She co-founded the band in 2011 with Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. To date ‘Chvrches’ have four albums which have all reached the top 10 UK charts! Not surprised with her stage presence and cited influence of the likes of P.J. Harvey and Annie Lenox, Lauren has gained a large following in the music scene. Tonight the Shepherds Bush Empire 2000 strong capacity was filled with dedicated and loyal fans. Lauren certainly knows how to take command of a stage at size as she has spent many years as a front woman of a band.

The first opener was Wølffe with some sublime guitar songs. She captivated the crowd with her emotional songs and has been signed to Elton John’s Rocket Music label.  Wølffe’s duo with Lauran Maybury for the song ‘Punch Drunk’, later on was a real highlight and shows her off as a talented lyricist. Her creative process shines through in her EP Honeymoon Season.

Not long after a short interval saw an energetic set of the night with the talented and soulful performer Aziya take to the stage showcasing some impressive guitar skills. You can see her her early career background in modelling come through with her subline command of the stage. At this stage the floor was filled with fans in high anticipation for Mayberry.

Lauren Mayberry powerful vocal range entertained with her Scottish wit and soon wowed the crowd. The bar is set high for her solo career as her energy really shines through with her Scottish  pop band  ‘Chvrches’. Lauren is always known for her magical personality and the banter between the songs together with the funny story telling, were a real hit with the audience Her The opener ‘Crocodile Tears’  was so much retro with Lauren clutching a phone. Other highlights of the night were the all but familiar ‘Change Shapes’ and ‘Shame’ which got the crowd moving. Yet to everyone’s delight Lauren even played The Verve’s cover song Bitter Sweet Symphony. Lauren mayberry Continues to show top performance with her live shows, even as a Solo artist. With her latest album release ‘Vicious Creature’ time will tell which direction she will go next.
